Notes from the Garden
I enjoy being a landscape designer because of the variety of work that it entails--one of which is writing, my personal passion. Sometimes a client has a special interest or need that requires me to study a certain subject in depth, such as espaliers or rain gardens. I collect my information from books, magazines and reputable online resources. Since I have gathered the information anyway, it's easy to draw up an "Info Sheet" on the subject, which I then give to my clients. I also write articles for publication, which are a mixture of facts, my opinions and experiences, and my quirky style of writing (that's good, right?). I write "The Naturescaper" column for The Willamette Valley's Home and Garden Journal, Mt. Angel Publications, which is available by subscription (gardenjournal@mtangelpub.com) at at your local Oregon nursery. Here are some of the things that I have written over the years, collectively dubbed "Notes from the Garden." ~Beth O'Donnell Young Information SheetsArticles
