Beth Young Garden Design

is a landscape design firm located in Santa Cruz, California, specializing in residential projects. I serve clients in the entire Central Coast area, primarily in Scotts Valley, Santa Cruz, Capitola and Aptos. San Francisco Bay Area projects are considered on a case-by-case basis.

My firm offers the gamut of landscape design services, from simple consultations to full sets of construction drawings. These construction drawings can be used by you, the homeowner, to install over a period of time, or you can hand it to a contractor--or contractors--to do it all at once. Most of my clients do a mixture: they have a contractor do the hardscape and then they prepare the soil and install the plants. Either way, it's great to have a plan!

My Book

I wrote The Naturescaping Workbook: A Step-by-Step Guide for Bringing Nature to Your Backyard (Timber Press, 2011). I am very proud of this book because it teaches the homeowner how to create a very satisfying home landscape by working with nature's awesome powers, eliminating the need for synthetic fertilizers, pesticides and excessive watering. I Like to Talk

I am offering "Naturescape Your Yard" again due to popular demand (last class had 40 enrolled and 104 on the waiting list). This session begins May 13, 7-8:30 p.m. and will be at NextSpace's Pacific Room, 101 Cooper Street, downtown Santa Cruz. Only $25 for all three sessions, $45/two from same household.
